TMR29 Artist Spotlight: John Baumann

Written by on May 29, 2025

John Baumann is a Texas-born singer-songwriter whose music captures the essence of everyday life through vivid storytelling and emotional depth. Since his debut EP, West Texas Vernacular, in 2012, Baumann has released several solo records, including High Plains Alchemy (2014), Proving Grounds (2017), and Country Shade (2020) . His songwriting prowess has led to collaborations with artists like Kenny Chesney and the Randy Rogers Band.

Baumann is also a member of the acclaimed group The Panhandlers, alongside Josh Abbott, William Clark Green, and Cleto Cordero of Flatland Cavalry. Formed in 2019, the band pays homage to West Texas through their music, blending traditional country sounds with contemporary storytelling.

With a sound rooted in Texas soil and lyrics that read like short stories, John Baumann crafts songs that balance grit and grace. His music blends traditional country with modern Americana, weaving in elements of folk and roots rock to create something unmistakably his own. Whether backed by a full band or alone with a guitar, Baumann brings a rare authenticity to the stage—one that resonates with anyone who’s ever chased dreams, lost love, or found peace in the in-between.

We are so excited to have him performing with us! Make sure to go check him out June 7th @ Burress Injury Law Main Stage @ 3:10 pm!
