Come check out the Matt Nix Band competing in Round 1, Week 4 of the 2015 Shiner Rising Star competition this Thursday night at The Double Wide [Dallas] from 8-10pm!

“The Matt Nix Band is an exciting new group out of the Fort Worth area, whose songs will get you on your feet and at the same time touch your soul. Fronted by Matt Nix, who, for years has been trying to inspire his students to work hard, take risks, and pursue the dreams in their hearts, has decided to take a bit of his own advice. Finally, after a day of trying to teach the quadratic formula with a song one of Nix’s students pulled him aside and said, “coach you’re a good teacher but you are an even better musician. You should really pursue music.” From there it was one risk after another that led to the formation of the Matt Nix Band and the release of their first EP DON’T GET RID OF A GOOD THING.
In March of 2012 the Matt Nix Band had its first official show at Billy’s Bar and Grill in Anna, Texas. From there it has been one crazy and exciting ride, from opening for Zane Williams to getting to play in places in the historic Fort Worth stockyards, and being selected to be apart of 95.3 KHYI’s Shiner Rising Star competition.
The Matt Nix Band is a band on the rise and is excited about what this next year has in store. One thing for sure, you won’t be disappointed by this group of dreamers.”
