Brett was asked, “Toyota Texas Music Revolution is almost here. Since you’ve been around for all of them, which one was your favorite?”

“Man its hard to pick just one but if I have to, its probably TMR 2. It was the first year I got a stage in the atrium. It was like a free-for-all. I had like 18 acts each playing like 20 minutes. I can’t even remember who all I had. I think I had Charlie Robison, Bruce Robison, Kelly Willis, Mark David Manders, Ed Burleson and a bunch of others. My favorite part of that day was something I tried though. I didn’t book anyone for my last slot of the day. I went to the back and assembled a band from anyone I could find and called it ‘Beefalo Jerky.’ It included Pat Green, Cory Morrow, Larry Joe Taylor, Ray Wylie Hubbard and some others all before they were really big time. I’ll never forget it.”
